Based at our offices in Longbridge, Birmingham, this is an opportunity to join a highly professional team delivering energy procurement solutions to a membership of public sector bodies, most of whom are from the Higher and Further Education sector. This role is critical in the support of our growing energy portfolio and to the continued insourcing of data services and reporting.

We are now looking for a Data Support Analyst who will be responsible for the maintenance of databases in support of our services and the accuracy of reporting to the member base.  The post will work closely with the Member Services and Trading teams to establish and implement improvements to current member reporting and to identify trends emerging from member data. Establishing reporting formats, data gathering and analysis in support of the flexible purchasing strategy.

Main duties

  • Develop and maintain relationships with other database users, sharing best practice and liaising with the member support, business services and finance teams.
  • Identify and undertake analysis of issues and trends emerging from the data using intermediate and advanced functions in Excel, including formulae, pivots and, where required, macros.
  • Implement new reports based on business requirements and develop new quality assurance processes.
  • Advocate the principles of good data management within the organisation.
  • Update and record all contracting activity and data on the company or other databases.
    Develop time saving systems based tools and processes to support the business in the overall aim of high levels of satisfaction among the membership.
  • Facilitate the award of members' portfolios to suppliers, based on the analysis of member and supplier data

The successful candidate will have

  • Sound and broadly based education to at least ‘A' Level standard or BTEC or equivalent.
  • Highly PC Literate - proficiency in various IT including MS Office, with advanced knowledge of MS Excel and Visual Basic.
  • Able to adapt readily to use in house database and other systems.
  • Articulate and numerate.
  • Ability to work quickly and to timescales while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
  • Organisational and prioritising skills.
  • Experience working in a data intensive environment

There is a generous pay and benefits package. 

  • Salary would depend on experience but falls within the range of £21,800 to £27,900pa
