Graduate Learning Mentor Are you a recent graduate looking for a support role within education where you can really make a difference as a graduate learning mentor? Do you have previous experience working with young people with special educational needs? Are you a confident and emphatic graduate who is keen to support secondary aged students as a graduate learning mentor? Graduate Learning Mentor: - Graduate role - Starting September - £60 - £65 per day - Mon-Fri working hours - Ideal for graduates from a variety of subjects - Walsall Secondary School - On site car parking for all staff Graduate Learning Mentor - The role: For this graduate learning mentor role you will spend a small amount of time providing in-class support to students who have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP). This role will also include one to one mentoring of SEN students, plus one to one tutoring of entry-level work to a student who has an Education Health Care Plan. You will be required to deliver booster sessions to small groups of students with SEN on the following: basic numeracy and literacy, resilience and social skills, plus entry-level English and some English as an additional language (EAL) support. Please note you do not need to have prior experience of delivering intervention sessions similar to this, however if you do have experience supporting SEN students or EAL students this will be advantageous. Graduate Learning Mentor - Person Specification: To be successful in this graduate learning mentor role you must be a confident communicator who can engage with youngsters of all abilities and backgrounds. You must be an emphatic person who can offer appropriate support to students who have special educational needs. Prior knowledge or experience working with young people who have SEN or EAL is advantageous in your application. You should be a graduate, ideally from a Psychology, English or Maths background - but all degree backgrounds are considered. Graduate Learning Mentor - The School: The Graduate Learning Mentor role is based in an 11-18 Secondary School located in Walsall. There is on-site car parking for those who drive and direct bus routes from the city centre. Recently the school has received a 'Good' Ofsted grading and there are a number of other graduate learning mentors who will be able to support you in your first few weeks of the role.
