Top Midlands agency are looking for a Technical SEO Manager to deliver SEO campaigns for a variety of clients in industries including automotive, leisure, finance and charity. You will be based within the media department and report directly to the Digital Media Managing Partner. You'll have a passion for the detail and problem solving of technical SEO and a flawless knowledge of best practice technical SEO in 2017. We'll need you to take a lead on all things technical, including hands-on implementation and client consultation. The ideal candidate will also have experience in CRO and split testing, along with a great understanding of using Google Tag Manager with JSON LD mark-up and Google Analytics. We will also welcome applications from all-rounders who have technical knowledge accompanied by content marketing and outreach skills.

Alongside the day to day management of SEO projects you will be responsible for producing SEO proposals and PowerPoint presentations for new business, creating SEO reports for existing clients, analysing campaigns and data, optimising campaigns and pro-actively making recommendations to clients. You'll be supported by SEO exec staff and will be required to guide and manage them where needed.

You will be expected to keep up to date with new developments in SEO, whilst actively researching, testing and proposing new approaches to improve search engine rankings and conversion rates. The ideal candidate will have solid technical SEO expertise, a minimum of 3 years' experience working in an agency environment, managing large SEO accounts and optimising campaigns.

The Technical SEO Manager will require a self-motivated attitude, ambition and strong organisational skills. The right person will thrive in this vibrant and friendly agency team and will play a key role in growing the SEO team.

Key Responsibilities & Skills

All aspects of SEO, including audits, consultancy, on-going SEO retainers and website migrations

Technical SEO: crawl error management, duplicate content management, indexation issue resolution, xml sitemaps, etc.

Excellent use of SEO and web analytics tools such as SEMRush, Screaming Frog, DeepCrawl, Moz, AWR, Ahrefs, VWO, Search Console etc.

Mobile and local SEO

International SEO experience is highly advantageous

Excellent knowledge of Google Analytics

Good knowledge of Google Tag Manager implementation is highly advantageous

Can manage and deliver link-building campaigns

Liaising with web developers and other internal stakeholders for delivery of projects

Campaigns based on conversion rate optimisation, familiarity with split testing tools

Comfortable with some copywriting for webpages and blog posts

Excellent use of Word, Excel and Powerpoint

Content marketing experience

Excellent communication skills required for new business, internal meetings and day-to-day client contact

Managing client expectations and have the ability to resolve issues independently

Management of SEO execs

Revenue management including invoice set up

Proactive and authoritative speaker at both internal and external (Client) meetings

Ideal Person

At least 3 years' experience working in an agency environment on SEO primarily

A proactive and positive "can do" attitude - ambition will be rewarded in this role
