Timber Centre Senior Sales Assistant Location: Lichfield, Staffordshire Salary: £18 - 25k, DOE Contract: Permanent, full time Hours: Monday to Friday, Saturdays as required working 08:00 - 16:00. Our client is a Family run Builders Merchant providing quality building materials and Luxury Kitchen and Bathrooms for trade and DIY retail in Lichfield, Uttoxeter and Wolverhampton. We are looking to recruit a Senior Sales Assistant for our timber centre. The applicant will be based at our depot in Lichfield. Overall Scope of Position: - To ensure that all customers are served in a prompt and efficient manner. - To promote, improve and increase profitable Sales for the Company by creating good customer liaisons and communications. - Having awareness at all times of Company procedures and pricing policies. - Provide an after-sales service to customers where necessary. - To react promptly and accurately to quotations and estimates in accordance with Company pricing policies and procedures. - To operate the sawmill equipment safely and efficiently ensuring health & safety procedures are followed. - To assist with the receiving and booking in of all goods received. - Order picking and order collation/assist with the loading/unloading of customers and suppliers vehicles. - To assist with stock checks/stock rotation. - Improve and maintain good product knowledge of all products stocked in the timber yard and generally keep aware of products available in the Timber Centre. - To have a constant awareness of security at all times. - To have a constant awareness of Health & Safety/Risks within the yard and Timber Centre. - Any other duties as assigned by the Timber Centre Manager. The Ideal Candidate: - Experience of working within a busy Timber Centre /Builders Merchants. - Excellent relevant product knowledge. - Excellent customer service skills. - General computer skills. - Excellent telephone manner. - Strong communication skills. Performance Standards: - A high level of self-motivation. - Ability to work alone. - Ability to communicate professionally at all levels. - Ability to work under pressure. - Ability to prioritise work and maintain a neat and tidy work area. - To have persistence to ensure objectives are met. - To share a responsibility with Management for your own personal training and development.
