12 month contract commencing March 2017

We now have an exciting opportunity for a talented transport expert to direct and lead our Transport Services Directorate and advise and support the development and implementation of our vision of 'building a healthier, happier, better connected and more prosperous West Midlands'. The role brings together all facets of the West Midlands transport networks, including the delivery of services directly to customers through a range of formal alliances and partnerships linking transport to commuters, business and commerce throughout our regional cities and partner networks to benefit the whole of our community. This is supported by our new investment portfolio including a £1bn construction programme which will span the next decade to provide the region and you with the opportunity and platform to flourish. We are continuing to grow and support the United Kingdom transport and infrastructure network developing best practice and unequalled possibilities in the West Midlands.

You will be able to demonstrate a successful track record of strategic and operational leadership and the successful delivery of transport services. Key is your ability to effectively deliver services and partnership strategy successfully working with our stakeholders to build and sustain mutual value and a common purpose. The remit of this role is far reaching so a flexible and innovative approach across all transport modes is essential. The operational landscape and importance of transport is changing nationally and regionally therefore your ability to build on and develop strong new relationships in our governance stakeholder framework is vital too.
