Our client a successful business based in Hinckley are looking to add a Business Analyst to their small but friendly finance team.

We're looking for a nearly or newly qualified Accountant, with good commercial/analyst skills, experience of a manufacturing environment would be a bonus, communication skills are key as you'll be liaising with both internal and external customers at all levels.

This is a high profile position which will focus on improving the commercial margins, analysis and reporting within the business. Working as part of the Commercial Finance team with a strong relationship with the Operational team, this key roles is to support the delivery of margin improvement and achieving the strategic goals set for the business.
A critical aspect of the role will be ensuring the business remains competitive, delivers the lowest cost options and provide the best commercial value.

The role:
*Identify and recommend margin improvement opportunities through deeper analysis of operational and cost information.
*Maintain and improve customer margin reporting through effective use of all relevant management information systems.
*Support the development of effective operational capacity modelling.
*Maintain customer and supplier indexation analysis to meet commercial expectations.
*Preparation of Customer and Product profitability analysis to support monthly Commercial and Sales meetings.
*To ensure costing system parameters are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure pricing decisions are based on the best information available.
*Provide insightful month end variance analysis on revenue, added value and trading profit.
*Support the development of effective rolling forecasting and budgeting.
*Provide details to external sales team to improve accuracy of forecasting.
*Analyse enquiry and quotation effectiveness and strike rate.
*Provide periodic volume, sales, mix and profitability information.
*Provide insightful style management information and recommendations for margin improvement.
*Ensure the effectiveness of the Costing system so that it reflects the Financial performance of the business.
*Develop dashboard style reporting to summarise key business drivers.
*Maintain customer or supplier related commercial savings and rebate trackers.
*Support the provision of timely and accurate operational costing information in relation to efficiency, capital investment, work allocation and other operational costs.
*Continually challenge and develop process flows and methods of operating.
*Play an active role within the company's middle management.

The person:
*Commercial and/or business analysis background
*Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant
*Strong analytical and data management skills
*Advanced Excel capability (VLOOKUP's and Pivots Tables etc)
*Attention to detail
*A high level of drive and enthusiasm
*Ability to work on own initiative
